Skylar’s graduation party was held on a beautiful day in May, the kind of day that feels just right for gathering and celebrating. It was more than just a graduation, though. It was also her 18th birthday, her golden birthday to be exact, which made the day feel extra special.
Her mom reached out to have me come and capture the afternoon, and I’m so glad she did. The space was full of thoughtful details; golden accents, personalized touches, and the kind of energy that comes when people you love all show up for you. Family and friends filtered in and out throughout the day, celebrating not just Skylar’s accomplishments, but the season she’s stepping into.
Graduation parties tend to go by quickly. There’s a lot happening at once, conversations, hugs, people reconnecting. Having someone there to photograph it all helps make sure those moments aren’t lost. The little things like a quiet laugh with a grandparent, a smile exchanged with a childhood friend - they matter, and they’re often the ones we end up loving most when we look back.
Skylar’s party was full of those kinds of moments. Simple, genuine, and full of meaning.
